Stephanie Knight
Stephanie Knight is an author, educator and advocate who brings many years of experience in the business world as an accountant, contract administrator and paralegal to her role at Scotia Road Books. Approaching midlife, she began the search to find herself and returned to graduate school where she earned a degree in sociology. For the next twelve years, Stephanie worked with the mentally ill, chemically addicted, homeless population. As a teacher, she taught sociology in a men’s prison, led re-entry courses for people coming out of prison, taught criminology at a local university while the professor took sabbatical and has volunteered as an ESL tutor.
Stephanie is a trauma survivor and brings this perspective to all her work. Having survived physical, sexual and emotional abuse and walked the journey of addiction with her sister until her death, she brings a wealth of experience and perspective, with complete lack of judgement on how people survive life.
Having worked with such diverse populations – from CEOs to convicts and everything in between – Stephanie brings vast personal, experiential knowledge into her writing and has incredible, true stories to tell.
