We are currently accepting submissions for publication during summer 2027 and beyond. Scotia Road Books publishes contemporary fiction, historical fiction, literary fiction, narrative memoir and essay collections. We will consider poetry collections as well.

To be considered, please fill out the submission form and upload your manuscript as a Word or PDF file with the first 20 pages of your manuscript, along with a query letter.

Format submissions as follows:

• Double-spaced
• 12-point font
• Number pages
• Label your file with your name and book title

Do not send your complete manuscript. If we are interested, we will request the full work.

Scotia Road Books charges a $25 submission fee to determine whether your manuscript meets our publication criteria. Our vetting process ensures that we publish quality works that meet our mission and literary standards. Please allow 8 to 12 weeks for a response.

Accepted authors will receive a publishing contract, which we will discuss on a Zoom introductory call. Once the contract is signed, we will begin work on your publishing journey, with a detailed timeline and articulated expectations to bring the book to market in paperback and e-book formats.

Author Brand and Book Marketing packages are available, but optional and outside of the publishing contract and process. If we like your manuscript but believe it needs a serious revision, we may require a Developmental Edit in addition to the hybrid publishing contract, with an associated additional fee. Then you will have time to work on a manuscript revision to meet our publishing standards.

Our standard hybrid publishing contract does not include production of an audiobook version of your book. If this is something that interests you, we will produce the audiobook for additional fees. We will discuss all of these options and fees at our introductory call.
